The following lines were occasion'd by a seafaring gentleman
passing by Wenman's punch house on London bridge, and seeing
wrote in large characters, PUNCH BY AUTHORITY.  And going in
with a friend call'd for a bowl of rum punch, but was
refus'd it.
  Exhilerating fluid, now no more.
  The merchant's treatise and the sailor's store.
  The captain's cheering friend, the mate's relief, 
  The steerman's help to stem his boding grief.
